The Adverse Reaction Of Calcium Chloride

JIUXU INDUSTRIAL (HK) CO., LIMITED | Updated: May 02, 2018

Intravenous injection can cause systemic fever. Rapid injection can cause nausea, vomiting, arrhythmia and even cardiac arrest. The early manifestations of hypercalcemia are constipation, sleepiness, persistent headache, inexormity, metal taste in the mouth, abnormal dry mouth and so on. The late signs are manifested in mental disorder, hypertension, eye and skin sensitivity to light and nausea.

In biological and medical studies, calcium chloride is widely used in the preparation of buffers needed for the preparation of biomedical experiments, such as the addition of CaCl2 to the ND96 reserve for isolated oocytes when studying a new activator for potassium ion channel complexes; in the study of guanoylcyclizer C on dopamine neurons in the mesencephalon CaCl2 was used for the preparation of brain slices. In the study of the fluoro ribose switch used to resist the toxicity of fluorine in bacteria and paleobacteria, the 1mmol/L concentration of CaCl2 was used in tandem marking experiments.

In the process of introducing target genes into receptor cells, calcium chloride can be used to increase the permeability of the receptor cell membrane so that plasmids are more easily introduced. This method was discovered by Stanley Norman Cohen, a geneticist at the Stanford University in 1972.
